Update. Yes. How long has it been? What year is it? Oh. Right. Let's continue. Everybody in the world that knows me knows that I took some leave to visit Okinawa, Japan. Land of my alma mater, Kubasaki High School. But Kubasaki turned out being one of the last things on my mind during my visit. I visited it once, but yeah. No other times. Something I did NOT expect to happen was for me to spend so much time with Ayumi. Not everyone knows who Ayumi is. Well, I went to the same high school as her once. Not Kubasaki, but Oceanside High School in Oceanside, California. I found her once again with the power of MySpace. Not that she remembered me... but I did almost buy some of her drawings our freshman year. She doesn't remember that. But that's okay. I forgive her. Haha. Haha. Haha. Anyway, i think it's about time I went along and explained my delicious visit to the beautiful Ayum... I mean, Okinawa. The only pictures I can post of my visit (due to technical difficulties, of course) are owned by Ayumi. Thanks, Ayumi, for letting me steal some of your pictures. For that reason, and because nothing else about the visit was worth mentioning, my description of events will have only to do with what i did with Ayumi and her cell group form Yomitan International Church.
For my first visit with the cell group, I was instructed to meet them at Starbucks. Here are some pics.
Here I am sitting kinda next to Alex. Not entirely part of the cell group. Kind of an honorary member for a while, like me.
Here's Ayumi, drinking some Starbucks and just generally being cool.
Me, playing with my straw and just generally being cool.
After Starbucks, we took a very short walk over to the foot spa, where we soaked our feet and shared a few laughs while our feet were soaking in community foot spa water.
Yes, I was extremely high when this picture was taken. I was tripping off the community foot spa water.
And of course, after a nice soak in community foot spa water, we decided to rinse our feet off in the ocean. Well, actually, my shoes stayed on my feet for that portion of the evening.
Omigosh! It's me, Salinas, and Alex! This was, of course, before we headed down to the ocean. But we were on our way.
We started to get sick of waiting for the beach. Just kidding.
On da beach, muh friend. On da beach.
We quickly tired of the beach. Looking up, we saw a beautifully tall hotel building. We simply had to investigate this sincerely beautiful structure.
On the first floor of the 23 story megastructure, they had several... buy-stuff stands. I was particularly fond of these hip-yet-retro shades. I was the talk of the town. I kid, I kid!
Like a deer in the headlights. (We were headed to the 23rd floor, by the way.)
Ooooh... 23 floors of pure delight. My eyes were glowing with amazement. Then we went to the 11th floor to check out the CatchMe Net.
Look out, Ayumi! You're gonna fall onto the CatchMe Net if you're not careful! Omigosh omigosh!
Then we visited the lush jungle paradise on the 4th floor. I am adjusting my tie to look good for the toucans and lemurs.
After the fun at the hotel from Heaven, it was unfortunately time for me to bid the cell group farewell. But all was not lost, for I soon found myself invited to see Star Wars Episode III: Something About Sith. But of course, it wouldn't be cell group without some meaningless fun beforehand! Dragon's Palace is the place to go for excitement and arcade games and exciting arcade games. Both at once! Whu-pah!
No arcade visit is complete without a little Time Crisis III. Look at how I handle that gun. Like a pro! (I'm on the right.)
After the fun arcade games, we all knew what had to come next. That's right, sticky pics!!!

After sticky pics, it was just about time for us to go to Star Wars Episode III: Something About Sith. So we crammed into cars (I, of course, sitting next to Ayumi) to head over to the Kadena Keystone Theater. The night was then over, seemingly before it began. I was invited to church then. Yomitan International Church. I took a walk during the service like some kind of heathen, drinking a Coke and soaking up Okinawa's harmful UV rays. But after the service was when I was REALLY gonna soak up some rays. At YIC's Torii Beach Bash Bonanza Galore! They hold it every year, I heard. Fun stuff. Free food, free fun, free... baptisms in the ocean. Oh, and free sunburn.
I am, of course, trying to get skin cancer by wearing those black clothes at the beach. Naw, just a tan. Tanning, me.
We're just a group of people at the beach, Ayumi and I being in the middle.
Sure, I look like an idiot... until you see the fact that I have my arm around a beautiful young lady named Ayumi.
It's a little dark... but you can clearly see that once again, I'm standing next to Ayumiyumi.
Later on, I put my thinking cap on and really did some pondering.
This is probably my favorite picture of myself. It doesn't hurt that you can't really see my face, either. I was burning.
It has been said that the sexiest thing in this picture is the mustard.
For the grand finale, a photograph of me and the pretty-darn-cute Ayumi.
That's all for the pics. But I assure you, there was much more fun taking place than these pics can ever depict to the careless viewer. I'm terribly sorry, but I'm afraid the only person that will ever know how much fun I had in Okinawa is my very own self. And it's all thanks to Ayumi. |
